importance of heart health. Edgewood Commons 635 used the holiday to give residents the opportunity to take advantage of health screenings, tests and listen to seminars presented by local organizations.
Edgewood Commons 635 invited community partners Ounce of Care, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Giant Food and local medical provider FiveMedicine to give presentations and provide resources for residents.
Throughout the afternoon, residents were able to receive blood pressure tests, BMI and glaucoma screenings. They listened to guest speakers including registered dietitian Alexandra Brown, family nurse practitioner Dr. Erin Athey, Chief of Social Determinants of Obesity and Cardiovascular Risk Laboratory at NIH Tiffany M. Powell-Wiley MD, MPH and international Chef Irene Cusion. After the event concluded, cupcakes and goodie bags were given to each resident!

emulated through our Enterprise Healthy Eats program which is designed to provides healthy food and nutritional resources at every property. To kick the year off to promote the program, our exceptional Resident Services Manager Michele Mitchell visited her communities for food box and blanket giveaways.
Residents at Highland Commons and The Residences at Highland Commons received over 60 blankets for youth residents ranging in ages from 1 to 17. 90 food boxes of fresh cut meats were prepared by Bowmans Butcher Shop of Harford County. The boxes consisted of ground meat, chicken, breakfast sausage, London Broil and the residents' choice of a half of ham or a half of turkey.
About 90 Park View Columbia residents also received a special meal from Bowmans. The senior community was able to select from a variety of cheese, turkey, roast beef, salami, a variety of spreads and brioche rolls.
At family community Woodbridge Commons, 50 food boxes from Bowmans and 59 blankets were distributed to residents. Youth residents were excited to receive their warm and cozy princess and Spider-Man themed blankets.
“Alice at Bowmans was so excited about what we were doing she agreed to store any boxes that weren’t used. I will be doing two more properties with the meat boxes,” exclaimed Mitchell!

As the holiday season drew near, Park View at Coldspring hosted an ugly sweater holiday party. The event was filled with fun activities such as an ugly sweater contest, raffles, bingo, "Family Feud" and a "The Price is Right" game, where residents guessed the cost of items back in 1963 and named celebrities from that period.
The management team provided residents with a delicious spread of fried chicken, mac and cheese, meatballs and cabbage. The apple cobbler and the ugly sweater cupcakes were a crowd hit.
What made the party even more special was the fact that everyone left with a gift including a vacuum cleaner, air fryer, massager, waffle maker and ice coffee maker.
Kudos to the Resident Services Manager Kellie Thomas for coming out to support and help management serve food and assist with the activities. Overall, it was a great party that brought together the community in a fun and festive way.

]]>With the air smelling like chocolate, peanut butter and cinnamon, 
Westminster Overlook residents feasted on freshly baked cookies for their annual cookie and dip holiday celebration.
Assistant Property Manager Deb Odachowski made peanut butter blossom cookies and taco salad. Resident Services Coordinator Kathy Craig made snicker doodles and meatballs.
Property Manager Shirley Hillman made chocolate chip cookies and sausage dip. Hillman mentioned they look forward to the community's weekly planned activities and leave with full stomachs and full hearts.
"The residents so much enjoy the gathering and goodies. Many of them do not bake or cook any longer, so this turns out to be a real treat for them," said Hillman.
To celebrate National Pajama Day, on November 20, residents and staff of Cove Point I & II and Park View at Dundalk dressed in their comfiest and coziest pjs! Residents were treated to coffee and donuts while wearing Minnie Mouse, Ravens and winter-themed pajamas.

The holiday season is a time for spreading joy, warmth, and cheer among friends, family, and loved ones. This week, The Greens at English Consul hosted their annual tree decoration event to celebrate the festive season and bring residents together. About 15 residents participated in this event, making it a huge success.
This year's event held great significance for the residents as they were uncertain if it would continue in the absence of Property Manager Janelle Dow-Summers. However, the management team ensured that the tradition was carried on, and the residents felt seen and appreciated as they expressed their gratitude for the event.
The event was held in the community room and lobby area, where residents gathered to decorate the building and the holiday tree. The community management team incorporated the ornament decoration into the event, making it more fun and interactive. The residents enjoyed the event with cookies, drinks, and holiday music, and that was evident from their cheerful faces and happy smiles.
The event was a huge success, and the residents enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a reminder that even during challenging times, we can still come together and spread joy and happiness.
Special thanks to Greens at English Consul's management team for making this event happen! It was an excellent example of how a community can come together to celebrate the holiday season and create a sense of belonging.

Monday, March 21st was National Down Syndrome Day and Park View Box Hill resident, Caroline Silverstein, organized a charity bingo for this cause, as it holds a very special place in her heart. The community raised $2180.00 for Jack’s Basket.
Jack’s Basket is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate babies with Down Syndrome. The organization strives to ensure that every new and expectant parent is provided resources and avenues of support within the community. They aim to educate medical providers on how to discuss the diagnosis in an unbiased way in hopes that having a baby with Down Syndrome is celebrated like any other.
