Frederick at the Clarion Inn Frederick Event Center for our annual Fair Housing Training. As the final event of the year for Residential team to see each other, associates were ecstatic to enjoy the discussion, food and comradery of the day.
Vice President of Operations JR Jean Paul introduced the speakers and agenda for day, starting with a special presentation from Beyond the Balloons Director of Marketing & Business Development Amy Earp. Earp kicked off the morning with her presentation Fair Housing: Wide Awake. With her colleague Jon Singer from Saul Ewing, LLP, the duo discussed how we are all responsible for promoting equity and fairness at our communities while assisting current and future residents.
After the morning session, lunch consisting of salad with leafy greens, pasta salad and build-your-own sandwich bar were served. Associates could choose from a selection of turkey, ham, roast beef, salami and a variety of cheeses and tasty bread.
During the first afternoon session, Kevin Sullivan from our law firm, Salsbury and Sullivan, LLC gave his Fair Housing Updates & Law presentation, emphasizing best fair housing practices regarding applicants and residents and answering legal questions.
To wrap up the afternoon, as a special treat for both National Boss' and Chocolate Cupcake Day, mini chocolate cupcakes were served to eat in the conference room or take home.
