bustle, especially now that the holidays are here! The community held its monthly meeting and had 40 residents in attendance. Management discussed prominent issues that affect the residents, including policies and procedures, how to respond in the event of an emergency, inspections by many agencies, the grievance policy and fire hazards.
Residents voted on the cuisine for their holiday meal and had to select between fried chicken and Italian, with Italian being the winner. The site team also opened up the suggestion box where residents can submit anonymous messages to management. Suggestions read from the box included doors slamming, cleaning the
washer and dryers after use and installing a sink in the laundry room.
The afternoon did not stop there, as a birthday party followed to recognize the residents who celebrated in November. Happy birthday Rosemarie Rimmel, Diane Boston, Betty Stevens, Eddie Payne, Wayne Miller, Meg Mcculloch, Nancy Nicora, Phyllis Emig and Marilyn Green!
A new addition to the community's lobby has brought joy from the start! Meet Joy Puppy who dances and wiggles to holiday music when you press his paw.
"We try to be joy makers around here! Residents are loving this little guy we call 'Joy,' exclaimed Property Manager Shirley Hillman!

Thanksgiving dinner last Tuesday, as the opportunity to connect with their neighbors for the holiday season could not have been passed up.
Throughout the afternoon, about 60 residents were treated to fried chicken, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and green beans. They were served by volunteers including the families of current residents, prior residents and local non-profit organizations that the community regularly hosts for a variety of events.
The site team handed out note cards for the residents to write down what they were thankful for this year. To add a creative aspect to put the cards on display, the team made garlands of the cards to hang throughout the building to get into the giving spirit.

It's more than just a delicious meal and endless hours of football. It's the time to show how using our creativity and kindness can strengthen our relationships with others through positivity and collaboration.
Park View at Coldspring residents had a wonderful time expressing what they were thankful for by writing sentiments on colorful leaves for their community gratitude tree. They took the afternoon to write on individual leaves to be placed on branches on their tree.
The residents were also provided cards with stamps to send this upcoming holiday season. Even the site team took the time to share what they were grateful for.

Can you believe that it's already the holiday season? Our residents can! They're already in the spirit of giving by creating greeting cards for family and friends, celebrating time spent with neighbors with arts and crafts and playing bingo.
Park View at Columbia residents showed their artistic skills during their arts and crafts and even had the opportunity to play a thrilling game of bingo. They painted and decorated coin boxes in a beautiful array of colors and designs, perfect to use for trinkets and other goodies. Bingo night was also a highlight of the residents' week, as a photo was captured when a resident jumped to her feet to yell “BINGO!”
With Thanksgiving coming next week, Greens at Logan Field residents designed and decorated greeting cards to give to their loved ones and friends. Resident Services provided the community with Thanksgiving themed templates, yellow and orange leaves and markers for coloring.
"We want to thank Raven Willoughby for the greeting cards and pre-posted envelopes provided to the residents to send out greeting cards to loved ones. They had a ball coloring thanksgiving artwork and just simply enjoyed time together as a community," expressed Property Manager Tracy Majors.
At Westminster Overlook, residents are never tired of bingo. The new theme, holiday, was a surprise for residents, as it was paired with a gift giveaway to get them in the spirit of giving.
"Many of the winnings can be given as gifts to their family members. Giving always makes your heart soft," said Property Manager Shirley Hillman.
