Congratulations are in order for Riverwoods at North East. Cecil County named the family-friendly community winner of the award for “# 1 Recycling Apartment Building or Condominium."
“I would like to offer my congratulations to all the winners, and thank the County’s residents, municipalities, and businesses for their continued support of our recycling program,” stated County Executive Danielle Hornberger. “The environment, and Cecil County, are better as a result of everyone’s efforts.”
This is the sixth year that this award has been given. It recognizes the apartment building or condominium owner or manager falling under the State of Maryland’s “Apartment Building or Condominium Recycling Program” mandate and having the highest reported recycling rate in a given year.
Riverwoods at North East recycled 17% of the waste generated by its residents in 2020.
County Executive Hornberger and the Cecil County Council announced the winners of the 2020 Cecil County Recycling Awards program hosted September 7. This is the 16th year that Cecil County Government has recognized municipalities, private firms, and other organizations for excellence in recycling and waste reduction.
