""Ensuring digital literacy and providing access to programs that inform residents of available resources is one of the key pillars of Enterprise's Resident Services. Recently, 16 residents at Evergreen Senior Apartments, located in Essex, Md., completed a 5-week Chromebook Essentials course on how to use a Chromebook. The course was designed to help seniors learn how to navigate the internet and use a laptop for everyday tasks like sending and receiving emails and utilizing Microsoft Office.

The course was produced by the Baltimore County Department of Aging, which hired digital specialists to teach the residents how to find things on the Internet, navigate social media platforms and use Google. By the end of the course, the participants had a solid foundation for using their new Chromebook laptops.

""Resident Services purchased a gift for the graduates and provided a delicious lunch to celebrate their achievements. During the lunch, the seniors shared their newfound skills and how they planned to use them in their daily lives. One resident was excited about doing online banking, while another was thrilled to have her first Telehealth appointment with her doctor. They also learned about spam and phishing, which will help them stay safe online.

Thanks to Resident Services Manager Michele Mitchell and the Baltimore County Department of Aging for providing tools to improve computer skills. Congrats to all residents for their hard work and dedication! ""
