Movie Magic

  |     |   Community Story

Residents living at Sierra Woods, located in Columbia, Md., were recently treated to a special private screening of Moana 2 at the local AMC Theatre.

More than 40 residents of all ages gathered at the theatre for an unforgettable evening of movie magic. Resident Services Manager Michele Mitchell, Property Manager Samirah Johnson-Vann and Assistant Property Manager Anita Willis served as hosts and greeters, and treated residents to popcorn, a drink of their choice, and a cozy fleece blanket for youth to snuggle under during the movie screening.

The evening proved particularly impactful for younger residents. As the movie unfolded, their faces lit up with joy. “It was heartwarming to see kids cuddled up in their blankets, completely immersed in the film, while parents expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share such a special moment with their families,” said Mitchell.

Evenings like this strengthen Enterprise's ability to provide curated resident engagement activities that allow residents to connect and engage on a deeper level. Many residents met for the first time including parents who discovered their children attend the same schools helping forge new friendships that extend beyond the walls of the theatre. The gathering sparked conversations, fostered a sense of belonging, and strengthened community ties.

The positive ripple reached beyond the event’s attendees. As the Sierra Woods team set up near the theatre entrance, several movie-goers took notice and inquired about the event, impressed that an apartment community would invest so deeply in residents. This provided a wonderful opportunity to introduce and share information about Sierra Woods and other Enterprise communities in the area with potential new residents. One family in particular, who had recently applied to live at another Enterprise community, had a chance to experience firsthand the warmth and support that defines what living in an Enterprise community is all about.

The Moana 2 screening was a poignant reminder of our mission at Enterprise. “This event was more than just a movie night,” said Mitchell. “It was a powerful reminder of the importance of creating shared experiences that bring people together. We believe that home is more than just a place—it’s about belonging, support, and moments like these that make our communities truly special.”
