Resident Services Coordinator Kathy Craig created a happy hour for Westminster Overlook residents, filled with sharing stories, games, and a happiness survey! About 15 residents were given the opportunity to list what makes them happy in 60 seconds and the longest list won a prize. Coloring pages and word searches with a theme about happiness were given to each resident to do during the hour. Residents enjoyed an assortment of finger foods, including meatballs, cheese and crackers, desert, with punch to drink.
"Happy Hour was inspired by the fact that we had meetings on depression for several weeks, and I was tired of talking about what makes us unhappy and wanted to start talking about the things that make us happy," expressed Kathy. "I gave a small presentation on happiness and talked about that no matter what is going on in your life there is happiness in each day…just look for it."
