On Friday September 17, we had our first Senior Fun Squad Field Trip to Sight & Sound in Lancaster, PA for residents 55 years of age and older.
- 134 senior residents from 18 communities in DC, MD, and PA participated.
- Our group of senior residents came with over 26 walkers, 4 wheelchairs (2 motorized), and lots of canes.
- 9 Senior Fun Squad Resident leaders helped to get their fellow residents signed up and assisted their fellow residents during the trip.
Thank you to the CIS Managers and Property Management staff who made calls and helped residents safely board buses and complete their waiver forms on Friday morning.
Special thanks to Jacqueline Bailey of Hollins House for exemplary assistance with residents during a bus breakdown. Thank you to Karen Cassel of Park View at Oak Crest and Carolyn Smith of The Overlook at Oxon Run for traveling with Residents. Thank you to Priyanka Gogia, David Horrocks, and Patrick Jordan for on-site help and more!!!
An extra special thank you to Charline Rolley and Kayla Quashie, who worked tirelessly to ensure all the residents were called, helped with bus company communication, worked with the Enterprise legal department to provide guidance, and were on-site to help resolve challenges.
Despite the breakdown of a bus and Cracker Barrel not being ready to seat all of our residents, staff and residents had the following comments:
- "This was a wonderful trip offered at no cost to the resident for the ride, show, and meal. The residents were thrilled and so grateful. Thank you so much Enterprise for making this a reality for those who would have never had the opportunity." – Shirley Hillman, Property Manager of Westminster Overlook
- "Good morning, just letting you know how much I enjoyed the trip yesterday, everything was wonderful." – Mr. Jimmy of Edgewood Commons
- "We thank you for a nice and safe trip and dinner, in spite of the kinks, it all worked out good. We truly enjoyed ourselves." – Ms. Tucker of The Greens at Liberty Road
