Admiral Oaks, a family community located in Annapolis, Md., hosted a Community Day in August. 
About 150 residents attended the fun-filled event to enjoy food, games and so much more. Students living at the community were treated to a backpack and school supply give away just in time for the start of the new school year.
Annapolis City Council Alderwoman Rhonda Pindell Charles made a special guest appearance to talk with residents while local businesses and agencies partnered with the community to help make the day a success.
The fire department joined festivities sharing safety tips as well as talking with youth about their experiences as first responders. Nearby childcare centers offered parents an opportunity to ask questions about available resources. And, business like Comcast and local insurance representatives gave away lots of freebies while talking with residents about their services in the area.
Residents were treated to a catered BBQ luncheon, while enjoying music, entertainment, door prizes and more.
“The highlight of the event was the [property] management and re
sident services teams dancing for residents,” said Regional Resident Services Manager Lakeshia Pinder-Jackson. “This event was a great success.”
