Get in the fall spirit! On October 20, 2023, residents of Taney Village, located in Frederick, were getting into the spirit of the harvest season. The community was abuzz with excitement as the annual scarecrow making workshop was just around the corner.
It all started about six years ago when Assistant Property Manager Ruth Ann Meadows came up to organize a fun and creative event to celebrate the harvest season. This workshop has since become a favorite among the residents and an annual tradition in the community.
About 16 residents gathered to put together a community scarecrow, which they named Frank, and placed it at the entrance to Taney Village to welcome visitors and guests.
Afterward, residents gathered to enjoy delicious treats like pumpkin cake, donuts and juice while socializing and taking joy in each other’s company.
A special thank you to Ruth Ann Meadows for organizing this fun event. For residents, the annual scarecrow-making workshop was more than just a fun activity. It was a chance for them to feel a sense of belonging, celebrate the harvest season, and strengthen their sense of community.
