Westminster Overlook residents love to listen to and learn from local
representatives about current health and wellness practices. A representative from the Carroll County Health Department visited the community and gave a presentation on “Living Your Best Life with a Chronic Diseases.” The 21 residents in attendance were introduced to wellness kits and received great information on managing chronic illnesses including diabetes, high blood pressure and stress.
To assist with the residents' health and wellness journeys, the health department generously donated exercise equipment to the community. Westminster Overlook has a new exercise ball, stretch bands, cookbooks, informational books and various DVDs that offer low impact/ chair exercises and Tai Chi exercises. The equipment is readily available for use by all residents to incorporate in their daily activities. After the presentation concluded, the site team made root beer floats and distributed snacks.
