Senior Night of Elegance

On a crisp fall evening, seniors living on the Edgewood campus in Washington, DC, gathered to celebrate Seniors Night of Elegance. 

The beautiful event was coordinated by Resident Services Manager Chona Bravante and Property Manager Ethel Couser to honor and entertain seniors living in Enterprise's Edgewood communities. Both Bravante and Couser were passionate about creating a special event for seniors and after discussing the concept, they quickly got to work. The idea was presented at a meeting where volunteers were divided into subcommittees to help bring the vision to life. 

Held on the 9th floor of Crawford Hall at Edgewood Commons 635, the event was filled with laughter, music and delightful moments that left a lasting impression. A major highlight of the evening was the smooth, soulful jazz provided by Spoken in Music, a local jazz group known for their mellow, sophisticated sound. The band had previously played at a community event for 1330 Apartments and Bravante knew they would be a perfect fit for event at Edgewood. The band's performance was the ideal soundtrack for the evening–soft enough to create an elegant atmosphere, yet lively enough to encourage dancing.

No event is complete without great food and Seniors Night of Elegance did not disappoint. A local caterer provided a delicious dinner that added to the evening's charm. The meal featured a choice of chicken in mushroom sauce, baked salmon, flavorful pasta salad and rice, ensuring there was something to satisfy every palate. The intimate setting created the perfect backdrop for enjoying a meal with friends adding an extra touch of sophistication to the night. 

After an enchanting set from Spoken in Music, the dance floor opened up and many seniors took the opportunity to twirl and sway to the music. It was a moment of joy as guests danced, laughed and enjoyed the magic of the evenings. 

Enterprise would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all who made this event possible including our volunteers and subcommittees, Spoken in Music for their incredible jazz performance, the caterer for an exquisite meal, and of course, the senior residents for making this event truly special.
