In collaboration with Program Manager Pinny Margolius at The Salvation Army Potomac Division Central Area Command and Regional Resident Services Manager Michele Mitchell, Woodlawn community Greens Rolling Road and Dundalk community Greens at Logan Field were fortunate to receive grocery boxes through their Groceries on the Go program.
Food insecurity continues to impact residents of several Enterprise communities. Inflation and barriers surrounding transportation to local stores can prevent residents from obtaining a week’s worth of food. Groceries on the Go aims to actively provide vital support monthly, ensuring ongoing nourishment and relief for residents at Rolling Road and Logan Field.
The Salvation Army is a long-time partner of Enterprise and continues to deliver and distribute nutritious and healthy food options throughout the communities. Their partnership and unwavering dedication to assisting residents is greatly appreciated.
Since the implementation of the Groceries on the Go program, Margolius and Mitchell have successfully registered and distributed grocery boxes to over 50 residents across both communities. Each box was carefully packed with essential food items, including canned salmon, a variety of canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, pasta, milk, juice, cheese and other healthy selections.
“Because of Pinny’s relentless dedication and commitment, we are now in the process of expanding this invaluable program to additional properties in my portfolio. Once again, I am proud to work for a company that truly puts Residents First,” expressed Mitchell.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Mitchell and Margolius for approaching the impacts of food insecurity with an incredibly much-needed program. We hope that Groceries on the Go will be the catalyst that sparks the conversation surrounding the demand for programs that focus on access to nutritious meals across local low-income populations and communities.
