The Maryland Multi-Housing Associate (MMHA) Service Training Apprenticeship program spent Turn Day at Enterprise communities including Greens at Liberty Road and Park View at Laurel I & II.
“This has been a great partnership between Enterprise and MMHA,” said Enterprise Senior Recruiter Zuzel De La Cueva. “After working at Greens at Liberty Road, three students were interviewed for the maintenance apprentice opening and an offer was extended.”
Students of MMHA's Service Training Apprenticeship must be prepared to spend three months in school learning basic carpentry, electrical, appliance repairs, plumbing, HVAC and more. Once accepted into the Apprenticeship program, students attend class from 8:30 am to 5 pm for two months.
Turn Day is designed to model a typical working experience in the industry. Each student is placed with an MMHA member apartment community with the goal of providing real-world work and training experience in the rental housing industry that leads to full-time job placement. Students, therefore, wear uniforms provided by MMHA's Service Training Apprenticeship. In addition, the Service Training Apprenticeship supplies all the physical tools like hammers, screwdrivers, etc., needed to effectively enter the workforce.
Special thanks to our partners, the Maryland Multi-Housing Association, and Enterprise communities including Greens at Liberty Road and Park View at Laurel I&II.
