For over two years, senior community Park View at Fullerton residents Robin Gurklis, Linda Romeo, Carol Vaulina and Kathy Wolfe have dedicated their time to ensuring that the community is provided with new initiatives and well-thought-out events to directly support the residents. The Baltimore community continues to thrive thanks to Fullerton’s resident volunteers.
Through organizing social events and managing the food pantry, the ladies’ volunteer work speaks volumes to their commitment to the community. For the community’s monthly food pantry, they distribute over 1,000 lbs. of food each; it’s inspiring that they are already looking ahead to further improve and expand their efforts.
“In January, we met to discuss their plans for the first quarter of 2025 and the upcoming year. I was thoroughly impressed with the thoughtfulness and initiative they intend to invest in the community,” mentioned Resident Services Manager Jeri Farmer.
Farmer joined Park View at Fullerton in March 2023 and praised the ladies for already being fully engaged and hands-on with activities prior to her arrival. “They still welcome me as a member of their team with open arms. Our time together is often filled with laughter and productivity,” she commended.
The success of the Thome Aging Well Program at Park View at Fullerton would not have been possible if not for the efforts of Gurklis, Romeo, Vaulina and Wolfe. In 2024, Enterprise Community Development was selected to receive the Thome Aging Well Innovation grant with 16 other Maryland nonprofits. The grant is currently utilized for Resident Services initiatives and has already impacted over 12,000 older adults in Michigan and Maryland. Thank you to the Thome Aging Well Program for selecting ECD for the prestigious grant to fund several Resident Services programs.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Park View at Fullerton residents Gurklis, Romeo, Vaulina and Wolfe for their unwavering dedication to serving their community. With their expertise for planning and organizing events, the lovely resident volunteers have established a special place to live where residents are proud to call home.
